Trauma-Informed Yoga Training + Free Info Session

Dear One,

Whenever I teach my annual “Trauma-Informed Yoga” trainings, I begin with this community guideline:

To work with humans means to work with trauma.

Whether you’re in customer service or the mental health field, an attorney or a teacher, a parent or a friend — interacting with humans means interacting with nervous systems. And interacting with nervous systems means encountering a wide range of nervous system states. Some states are easier to be with (like safe & social, or rest & digest). Others can be more challenging to hold space for (like fight/flight, or freeze, appease, collapse).

This upcoming Trauma-Informed Yoga Training comes in two parts.

Part 1 is a foundations training focused on trauma-informed education and befriending your own nervous system. It’s relevant for anyone interested in navigating the experience of being human, being in a body, and riding the waves of the nervous system with more grace. You can participate live and in-person, or asynchronously via recording.

Part 2 takes things to the next level with professional skills training — a weekend immersion of partnered practice, feedback, and mentorship designed for yoga teachers, therapists, and other healing professionals. My intention is always for this experience to feel both like a professional training and a personal mind-body-nervous-system retreat.

If you’d like to learn more before diving in, you’re invited to attend the free info session on Thursday, 5/14 at 7pm at JP Centre Yoga. If you can’t attend in person, you can also join via livestream or watch the recording afterward.

You’re also encouraged to attend the 5:45pm Intuitive Flow class before the info session so we can connect through the embodied practice of trauma-informed, nervous-system-responsive yoga.

More details below.

High five from my nervous system to yours,

~ Alex
